Apartment 65 is on the 3rd floor (no elevator!) of an ancient building (the same as apartments 20, 68 and 226) located beside Rossio square. From its small windows you have a nice view to the square, to the church of S. Domingos and also to the Castle S Jorge. The building dates back to the 16th C and survived the big earthquake in 1755.

Apartment 65 is in the heart of the historical center of Lisbon, next door to all kinds of traditional commerce, fashionable shops and to numerous restaurants of all kinds. It is also a short walking distance from the other picturesque neighborhoods of Castle (S. Jorge), Alfama, Chiado and Bairro Alto. It is also walking distance to the subway and train stations that can take you to the beaches around Lisbon and to all the sightseeing inside and outside the city.

There are two public parking garages at your disposal 2 minutes away.

The apartment is 65 m2, is decorated in a mixture of its centenary components and modern design objects to include the following:

  • one living room with Satellite TV, DVD/CD player;
  • one bedroom with a double bed (140cm wide);
  • one bedroom with 2 single beds;
  • a kitchenette with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge with freezer and electric stove;
  • a bathroom with bathtub;
  • a toilet;
  • a shower with whirlpool.

The apartment has air conditioned for cold and warm.

Wireless internet connection available for those who have their own laptop with Wi-Fi compatible equipment.

We will welcome you with a bottle of wine.

This apartment is set in the the city centre, next door to Rossio and Praça da Figueira.

After the great earthquake of 1755, when the centre of Lisbon was destroyed, a new one was constructed, made of grid pattern “geometrical” streets. This area, situated between Praça do Comércio, Rossio and Praça da Figueira is called Baixa.

It is next door to Baixa, now the heart of Lisbon’s historical centre, where apartment number 9 is located, at Largo de S. Domingos. There are several other apartments at Baixa.

Largo de S Domingos communicates also with Rua das Portas de Santo Antão, the location of many excellent fish restaurants as recommended by many city guides (see VisitLisboa). From this street leaves, every 15 minutes, the Elevador do Lavra, the oldest funicular in Lisbon (120 year old). It will bring you to the neighbourhood of Pena, and to the green spots of Jardim do Torel and Park of Campo de Santana. It is also close to Avenida da Liberdade, place of elegant fashion shops, hairdressers and also to a big health club.

You are within a few minutes walk to the castle (S. Jorge), Bairro Alto (by foot or taking the funicular Elevador da Glória) and Alfama with all their historical sights, museums, monuments, bars and restaurants.

The area is served by 2 subway lines , numerous bus lines and tram lines that will help you explore the city and nearby tourist sights such as Sintra and Cascais or the beaches around Caparica and the Estoril coast

Come and see for yourself

The location was fantastic. We walked almost everywhere because it was so close. Lots of restaurants are right outside, Barrio Alto was only a 10min walk and pink street only 20min. The train to Sintra was also only a 5min walk. The place itself is unique as it is in an old building, with smaller bedrooms and bathroom. It was not an issue as the view from the living room was fantastic and we enjoyed spending most of our time there.

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for four nights. The apartment was clean and spacious. The best part was the location which was perfect! It's right on Rossio square, next to the main train station for great day trips, walking distance to a lot of the main sights in Lisbon and walking distance to great restaurant and bars. The host was very accommodating. We met them at the office and they walked us around the corner to the apartment. They were very nice to work with and left a very helpful binder with everything you need to know about visiting Lisbon.

The host was great, met us at the established time, gave us great tips and answered questions. The apartment was exactly like the pictures.the shower and the toilet room are weird because they are like hidden in closets. But it will do for a short stay. I do recommend it. It's value for money.

We enjoyed our stay at this light and beautiful apartment. Close to Rossio square it's just a short walk to most of the best places you want to visit in Lisbon. The famous trams start just around the corner. Check in and check out were uncomplicated, and we got some very useful tipps from TravelingtoLisbon before our arrival. Especially the look from the front window over Rossio and to Bairro Alto is amazing. This place is definitely worth the money!

Sehr empfehlenswert!!
