Apartment in Lisbon 33 - Chiado (managed by TravelingToLisbon)

This luxury apartment is set in the old part of the city center. It’s bright and filled with daylight, set on the 3rd floor of a recently refurbished building in Luis de Camões Square. The square is in the cultural and historic heart of Lisbon, on the edge of Bairro Alto and Chiado.

The apartment has impressive views of the elegant Praça Camões from the veranda at the facade and over the river Tejo from the veranda at the back.

There are tree public car parks 3 minutes walking.

The apartment is 120m2 and has been renovated to include the following:

• a bedroom with double bed (150 cm wide);
• a bedroom with two single beds;
• one living room with dining and sitting areas, one double sofa bed, satellite TV, DVD and stereo;
• a complete kitchen with washing machine and dish washer;
• 2 complete bathrooms, one with bath tub ad the other with shower, accessible from the main sleeping room.

The apartment has 2 balconies. One at the kitchen and the double bedroom's side, with a magnificent view over the river and the gardens behind the building and the other near the living room and twin room  with view over Luis de Camões Square.

All rooms have air-conditioning

Cable internet access available for those who have their own laptop.

We will welcome you with a bottle of cold “vinho verde”.
You will also find in the apartment various CDs of Portuguese music to complete your cultural experience.

Apartmets 33 and 4 are both located at Praça de Camões. There are several other apartments at Chiado.

Apartment 33 is located at the southwest corner of Praça Camões, where Rua Horta Seca turns into Praça Luis de Camões, at the heart of Chiado.

Chiado is considered the most beautiful area of historic Lisbon. It was a place of residence of the Portuguese royalty and of the political and cultural elites. Nearby are located the theatre S. Luis and the opera S. Carlos. A little further is Camões square (Praça de Camões), next to Bairro Alto, picturesque but raffish. Part of Lisbon's nightlife is concentrated in this quarter, where you can hear 'fados' being sung in some restaurants and cafés. Chiado and Bairro Alto are where locals and tourists meet, with elegant hotels, old cafés and the best international fashion shops.

Praça Camões is one of the most important squares named after the Portuguese Prince of the poetry, with his statue in the centre. It is well situated near Bairro Alto and Chiado. Several museums, operas, theatres and churches are walking distance from the flat, which is located opposite the luxurious 5 stars Bairro Alto Hotel.

A 5 minute walk takes you to the the funicular Bica and also to Rossio, in Baixa. In the other direction, you can find Praça do Comércio, centre of the old Portuguese empire near the river Tejo (Tagus).

It is close to shops, restaurants, cafes, banks, cash machines, public transports (inc subway station Baixa/Chiado station 50 meters away and electric trams) 24 hour taxi stands, etc. Also in the same square there are a pharmacy and a post office, as well as grocery shops within 5 minutes walking.

To go to Sintra or to Óbidos you must catch the train at Entre-Campos train station, which is just a short subway trip from Chiado.

The nearest airport is Lisbon International Airport at 12 kilometres; the nearest railway station is International Station of Santa Apolónia at 1 kilometer.

Amazing week with our 2 near-adult children.
Perfect apartment, perfect location. Our children enjoy the highlight - Fado bars especially.
They became part of this internationally flavoured neighborhood and loved every minute.
Language could have been a problem, but it was NOT. Love of pure, fresh, fine food is universal. Communication can be bridged.

Special thanks to the staff of Traveling to Lisbon who took care of us at midnight after a terrible flight delay.
It was such a relief to have everything work well once we landed in Lisbon. The Traveling to Lisbon folks rushed in tio care for our every need.
Coffee, snacks and wine were waiting for us.

A flower vendor built a flower arrangement that could also be our Christmas tree. She did a beautiful job.
So much more to discuss such as the remarkable sardines found in every restaurant and at the market.

We love your spacious apartment and great view from almost every room in your apartment of the river and of the square.
The apartment is modern and clean. We like the location because is is in walking distance to most attractions and restaurants.
It is also unique that the apartment has a quiet side with a great view of the river and the festive side with enjoyment of life in the city...
We had no problems with sleep or noite since we simply close our windows to the "festive" side.
We appreciated the service from TravelingToLisbon from picking us up from the airport and for the easy check in as well as "inside informations" for tourists from our driver.

Apartment 33 is just fantastic, with great views of the Tagus on one side, and Luis Camoes square on the other.
The Chiado/Barro Alto location is ideal for seeing everything in Lisbon, with easy access to Tram 28 (it stops right in front of the apartment), shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. Everything we needed was in the apartment when we arrived, and Raul who greeted us could not have been more helpful, even dropping off instructions in English for us on the use of the washing machine, pointing out where to shop, and suggesting restaurants.
He and all the staff were just great.
I have already recommended travelingtolisbon to friends, and we plan to return to Lisbon & Apartment 33 as soon as we can.  

Sometimes the noise of the construction in the next building was very loud but I would have rented this unit even if I had known about the construction - even if it did disturb my nap the one day ;)
I expect some of your customers might be annoyed, and you might be able to avoid some dissatisfaction and less favorable comments by making this known to customers prior to renting.
That said, we LOVED the apartment and location, and hope to come back and stay in apt 33 again next year.

Excellent Location, central and quiet. Take a trip on the 28 Tram, it’s amazing.
Go down into Lisbon and eat at the “Sol Dourado”.
Stroll over to the Port Wine Lodge for Port and Cheese with a very reasonable price.
Go to the museums at Belem, free at Sundays!!!

We loved our apartment (Apartment #33).  The location was superb, with the nearby trolley stop and the abundance of excellent restaurants within walking distance. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, with beautiful views of the river and the Camoes Plaza.  The kitchen was very modern and clean, with everything that we needed.
The service of the Traveling to Lisbon personnel was exceptional.  My emails were always answered promptly and professionally.  We arranged for airport pickup through Traveling to Lisbon, and we were extremely pleased with our knowledgeable and friendly delivery person.  We also received assistance in renting a car for our travels in Portugal.  We highly recommend Traveling to Lisbon, as well as the wonderful apartment.

Merci pour votre accueil chaleureux, nous étions content, même très content de l'appartement, qui est pratique, confortable, lumineux, avec belle vue, au centre de tout, le tramway 28 est une joie. L'ascenseur était pratique pour les grands parents. Les enfants étaient contents des jouets et des DVD.
Ma femme a laissé une questionnaire sur place avec une liste des petites choses qui manquent.
En plus le temps était extraordinaire. Il paraît que les hivers sont toujours aussi doux. Dans ce cas là, nous avons envie de revenir, chaque hiver.
