Description
|
Apartment number 109 and 108 are located in the old city centre, between Bairro Alto and Príncipe Real, place where a large part of the cultural, gastronomic and nightlife of Lisbon takes place. On the surroundings there are some art galleries, Fado houses, several restaurants and the famous Lisbon Botanical garden, a tranquil place to explore. At 50 meters, you have "Principe Real Place", ideal square for a drink in the shadow of quiet trees. The apartment is a short walking distance from the other picturesque neighbourhoods of Baixa, Chiado and Alfama, where you can find the historic Castle (S. Jorge). Nearby you have all kinds of traditional commerce, high standard shops (at Chiado) and access to the train to the beaches around Cascais (Cais do Sodré). There are 2 public car parks within 5 minutes walking distance (Rua do Século e Rua da Escola Politécnica) and a taxi stop at 50 meters. The closest subway stations are Rato and Chiado, just a 10 minute walk from the flat and there is an easy access to the city by foot. It is a 40 m2 apartment, in the same building as apartment 108, (on the second floor) recently renovated to include: living room (satelite TV and stereo) with a double sofa-bed (140 cm wide) and an eating table, wi-fi internet connexion; a kitchenette with washing and drying machine, electric stove and oven, fridge with freezer and everything you will need to have a confortable stay; bathroom with shower; a bedroom with double bed (140 cm wide)
In wintertime it is heated with electric heaters. We will welcome you with a bottle of cold “vinho verde”. You will also find in the apartment various CDs with typical Portuguese music to complete your cultural experience in Lisbon.

Location
|
The apartments 108 and 109 are both located at Bairro Alto (BA) in the same building, next door to the marvellous garden Príncipe Real. There are three public car parks within 3 minutes walking distance. BA dates back to the 16th century and is characterized by its small workshops and restaurants. By day, it is a quiet sleepy area (recently pedestrianised); by night the area becomes alive and is a popular place to dine and drink away the early hours. Príncipe Real is an elegant 18C and 19C neighborhood with a pleasant centenarian park having a quiet open air café and the water museum – Museu da água). In the neighborhood, there are several very good restaurants and bars, all kind of commerce, including antique shops, the park of Principe Real and the oldest Botanical Garden of Lisbon and the Botanical Garden (Jardim Botânico) of the University Clássica of Lisbon. You can also go to all the restaurants and bars of Bairro Alto where the sentimental 'fados' are still sung in some restaurants and cafés. The apartment is a short walking distance from the other picturesque neighbourhoods of Baixa, Chiado, and Alfama, where you can find the historic Castle (S. Jorge). It is also walking distance to the subway (the closest is Baixa-Chiado) and train stations (Cais do Sodré) that can take you to the beautiful beaches around Cascais. A 5 minute walk takes you to Rossio, in Baixa, and to the Elevador da Gloria (Time Table), arriving in Avenida da Liberdade. In the other direction, by the river Tagus (Rio Tejo), you can find Praça do Comércio, centre of the old Portuguese empire. It is close to shops, restaurants, cafés, banks, cash machines, public transport (inc subway Baixa/Chiado station and electric trams) 24 hour taxi stands, etc. The nearest airport is Lisbon International Airport at 12 kilometres ; the nearest railway station is International Station of Santa Apolónia at 1 kilometre. There are several other apartments at Bairro Alto.

El trato ha sido excelente por parte de Vanessa, nos ha ayudado con nuestras preguntas y dudas y problemas con el apartamento.
Como sugerencia, que cambien la ducha que no echaba mucha agua.
Muchas gracias por todo

Dear TravelingToLisbon team, We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment. It is very comfortable, clean, bright and in a lovely area. We were welcomed by Vanessa, an excellent hostess, who gave us many tips. She was professional and friendly. We highly recommend Trivial Restaurant (approx. 5-minutes walking) in Rua da Palmeira nº44ª. Tel: 213473552 The trip to Sintra, Cascais and Expo park were worthwhile. Great location.
Thanks again.

This apartment is situated in a beautiful old area of the city of Lisbon. The apartment is very bright, clean, and comfortable. It is well equipped with everything a person would need in a self-catering apartment. Its location is very good as it is well served with public transport and it is just a short walk down hill to the city centre. There are also some very good restaurants in the area.
We were received by a person called Vanessa, who was fantastic. She was very friendly and professional and took plenty of time with us to suggest various trips for us during our stay in Lisbon. She was a great hostess.
Perhaps ensure that the windows of the apartment could be opened in advance of guests arriving as there was a smell from the drains when we arrived. When we opened the windows, however, and left the wind blow through it was perfect, but, for a first impression the strong smell was not the best first impression.
Overall, however, we had a great time in the apartment and in Lisbon and have recommended your company to many of our friends here in Ireland.
Thank you all.

Dear all, Many thanks for the stay. The flat is perfectly situated for our needs and we had such a fantastic stay. I had my birthday here 39 (oops) with all my friends and went to Olivier's Restaurant: fantastic too, excellent food (a must go place + Castelo São Jorge). Many thanks.

Dear TravelingToLisbon staff, Thank you for the cosy flat, we had a very nice time here. It is always much better to stay in an authentic neighborhood than in a hotel. The flat is well-equipped and has a nice & pleasant design. We had a lovely time here in the flat & outside in the city, too. We will recommend your services to everybody. Raul, thanks for the late welcome! We had a nice walk in the Alfama and travelled a lot by public transport all over the city, in the Botanical Garden, etc. Thanks again.

For East Europeans, a bit pricey, so you might consider to offer special prices to the EU newcomers (HU, CZ, SK, PL, RO, BG) :) Otherwise everything was fantastic. Like coming home. Thanks, thanks, thanks!
