Apartments 21, 40, and 63 are located at Rua de S Bento, the street connecting the square Rato to the square where is the National Parliament - Palácio de S. Bento. There are several other apartments at São Bento. In his area you have all kinds of shops, being of special interest decoration shops, antiques, and exquisite restaurants. By day, it is a quiet sleepy area, by night the area becomes a little bit more alive and is a popular place drink and dance away the early hours. You can also visit Amália Rodrigues museum (50metres from the apartment) that, like the name indicates is dedicated to the most famous Portuguese fado singer. Museum’s building was Amália Rodigues’s house. The neighbourhood of S. Bento is in the limit of the historical centre. In about 15 minutes walking you will be at Chiado (please see location of apartments 4 and 5) and Bairro Alto (location of apartment 11) and from there at Baixa (location of apartments 1, 2, 3, 9 and 15). If you prefer you have all kinds of public transports and taxi stops. The subway station of Rato is at 10 minutes walking. The public transportation can take you to Docas by the river Tejo (means piers, it is the river front built during the 90s, where you can find several of bars and restaurants) or to down town (Baixa). Nearby there are to nice parks, ideal places to rest, refresh and have a drink during the exploration of this hilly city – Jardim da Estrela and Jardim Botânico (Botanical Garden) of the University of Lisbon .
